Effective 10 July 2026
Privacy, in plain language.
ActThread is designed to work without an account or network service. The app does not automatically send the developer your productions, blocking diagrams, cast information, notes, exports, identifiers, usage, diagnostics, or other personal data.
Data stored on your device
Productions, cast tracks, notes, ground plans, blocking beats, movement routes, and preferences are stored locally in the app's private container. The primary library reflects edits and deletions after a successful save.
Before replacing a valid primary library, ActThread preserves it as one automatic recovery copy in that container and uses the copy if the main file becomes unreadable. The copy normally contains the previous valid save, so a recently edited or deleted item can remain there until a later valid save replaces it. The recovery copy is not sent to the developer and is separate from an editable JSON backup that you choose to export.
Depending on your settings, Apple may include app data in an encrypted device backup or transfer. Apple's terms and privacy practices govern those services.
Exports and sharing
When you choose Share Editable Copy for a production, ActThread creates a file containing that production's acts, scenes, blocking beats, cast and optional performer details, notes, ground plan, entrances, scenery, and movement routes. Apple's share sheet lets you send the file with an available destination such as Messages or AirDrop, or save it to iCloud Drive in Files and share it from there. The document or storage provider, app, service, or person you choose receives and governs its copy under its own privacy policy. ActThread does not send the developer a copy.
When you choose Import Shared Production, the document interface grants ActThread access to the file you select. ActThread reads it on your device and adds that production as a new, independent copy. Later edits do not sync or merge with the sender's copy, and ActThread does not provide co-editing.
Full-library backup is separate from sharing one production. Export Editable Backup creates a JSON copy containing the full library at the Files or document-provider destination you choose. Restore Editable Backup reads the JSON file you select on your device and asks before replacing every production in the current library.
ActThread creates production copies, editable full-library backups, PDF packets, and PNG diagrams only when you request them. The developer does not operate a transfer or cloud-storage service.
Permissions and tracking
ActThread does not use tracking, analytics, advertising, or third-party data-collection SDKs. It does not request access to location, contacts, calendars, microphone, camera, photos, Bluetooth, local-network devices, or tracking. Apple's sharing and document interfaces act only when you initiate them.
Deletion
You can delete individual productions from the primary library. A deleted production can remain in the automatic recovery copy until a later valid save replaces that copy. Deleting ActThread removes its local app container, including the primary library and automatic recovery copy, subject to any device backups maintained by Apple under your settings. It does not delete shared production files, full-library JSON backups, PDFs, or PNGs saved at destinations outside the app.
Children and schools
ActThread is a general productivity tool and is not designated as a Kids Category app. It does not knowingly collect information from children or any other user because it does not transmit user data to the developer.
Changes and contact
If you deliberately contact support by email, the developer receives your email address, message, and anything you choose to attach. That correspondence is used only to respond, diagnose the reported issue, prevent abuse, and meet legal obligations; it is retained only as long as reasonably needed for those purposes. You can request deletion through the same support address.
If a future app version adds a network service or automatic data collection, this policy and the App Store disclosure will be updated before release.
